The gremlins are at work again ---

A story and a warning worth reading.

I lost my googlemail account some time ago when without warning it decided my password was not recognised despite having used it for some time---no amount of trying to recover my password or change it including going through security questions would work--so I thought :Censored: google Ill go to hotmail. No problems.

Fine.

HOWEVER then theres the Google associated business called You tube.

I hate it when these kind of organisations combine, you always get IT trouble like BT and Yahoo---nightmare again:bang: :bang: :bang:

Well now I cant access my You tube Account because guess what--my password which is 2 years old is suddenly wrong---

What else would I expect from a google associated business--by a stroke of luck I managed to reset my password by using the google system of security questions so I have You tube account control again--but googlemail which is controlled by the same password--no :Censored: chance

Draw your own conclusions--I did:beer1:

What conclusions did you draw?
I'm really not sure what you are saying?
You dont like Google?

I'm sure it will never catch on.

Call me old fashioned but I prefer to download my online accounts mail using POP 3 to a desktop client - at least I always retain a copy of my mail - if the account suddenly disappears I have the mail, and its backed up.

:agree:

Or even better, also set a forwarder for the same address as your POP to your gmail account and get a free 7.5Gb online backup of all your mail :D

Im not saying anything--just reporting the facts as usual--you read the facts and decide--Im not drawing any conclusions as I dont wish to get sued :zip:

However this may be of help to others;)

It wasnt a dig, but a genuine question about what you are posting about?

You obviously felt strongly enough to post but havent really said what the issue is.

Do you think there's a big Google conspiracy going on?

Oh I see--well its all a bit strange--my googlemail absolutely refuses to recognise me despite even answering the special question--like whats my dog called--and now as reported on another thread my You tube password is suddenly invalid--Google/You tube use the same password apparently.

Corruption of a perfectly valid file thats been on you tube for at least 18 months also is a puzzler--perhaps theres an explanation--I thought computer files didnt wear out:confused:

Just amazed and disappointed that there should be these problems when you think how much IT resources there must be behind these outfits:eek:

Which sort of drifts over to the digital player failure thread for Jules on Cortex--

I always said a computer is never wrong only the people who input the data and run them--

GIGO

Im beginning to wonder what the :Censored: is going on;)

They don't HAVE to, but you can link them if you choose

Yes thats true--tried all combinations--nothing doing on googlemail:eek:

I gave up bothering a while ago until the latest problem with You tube kicked it all off again.

My son had his yahoo box mugged and I wondered if my gogglemail box was similar, although theres nothing of value in it:confused:
