Ordered ultimax dj stand and gig bag and accessories from HTFR direct by phone on the 25th march and was assured id receive everything in 48 hrs. Now a week later only received gig bag and shelf. Phoned them again and they say the stand they have in stock is incomplete and there waiting for spares and my other items like the curtain and rail. And to cap it all its at least another week until i might see the items ive ordered posted to me. It seems there stock system is not uptodate and they can sell the same item multiple times until the item is physically picked. This means that 3 people at least ordered exactly the same things as i did, at exactly the same time. Believable i think not...Customer Service and honesty in sales seems to be a joke at one of the countries leading dj suppliers. Frustrated would be an understatement at the moment

That's very believable. They're not like your local disco shop. They sell world wide, with at least 1000 orders a day being shipped out! 2 or 3 of the same thing isn't unusual.

Hmmm....I know you worked there Adam, but there appears to be a lot of stories about HTFR and their lack of accurate stock count recently.

Err, yes I have had experiences with them not totally unlike the one mentioned. ;) :( ( It did often help to be able to PM Adam, and get him to go round and prod some buttock. ;) I owe the lad a pint really. :beer1: )

Most companies get Ultimax to ship direct, as far as I have been told.

I had an issue with HTFR regarding an Ultimax stand, although it was slightly different in my case as I'd ordered something a bit different from what was stocked normally. Nevertheless it took ages to arrive, but was sorted out in the end.

HTFR are not alone in promising more than they deliver - other DJ stores have done the same to me.

I know you did, cos you said so. ;) I said most companies get Ultimax to ship direct. When I got my Ultimax from DFB, they just get Ultimax to ship straight to the customer.

Not me, I never did mail order....Too many people can let you down in the process. If it is in the shop or in one of the catalogues, I have it in less than a week. No messing, my customers are 99.9% happy, 99.99% of the time.

I know, thats why I didn't quote the whole the message, I'm not defending or discriminating them.

Saying its hard to believe a shop sells more than one product at a time, was the point I was getting at. I've stood there and sold up to 15 ADJ Mystics on one afternoon, to then phone customers who ordered online, that what they wanted is now out of stock. Customers who make the effort to walk into the shop, will get the products first, over someone who phones up, or orders online.

Customers who make the effort to walk into the shopThat's worded a bit harshly, Adam! Surely it's a case of practicalities (eg geography) rather than not making an effort?

Indeed.

I doubt whether many customers who live 300 miles away will "make the effort" to walk into the shop...when they can order online!

I can't comment....always brought with DJ Kit and NEVER had a problem - just a load of loyalty points!

I think that is a terrible way of doing business. If you are first to buy something, it shouldn't make any difference whether you are ordering via phone, internet or going into the shop. A sale is a sale.

I've bought from DJ Kit once and had a problem. They used incorrect product images, videos & descriptions on a couple of products that I went ahead and bought, only to find that they were completely different from what I had thought I'd ordered.

Wording was probably a bit off, but if a customer is in the store with a lighting fixture/cd player/stand in their hand, a member of staff won't come and take it from them, saying "sorry, although you've demo'd this light, like it, and your in the queue to pay for it, we've now had an order for it online/on the phone, so you can't have it" are they??

I would hope that is exactly what they would say if they'd already sold the rest of the stock via the net or phone.

Perhaps I'm being a little naive....:o

the way they treat customers is way beyond belief,i know because they have done it to me more than once, but they won't be doing it again.

Well it seems i`ve been caught in the HTFR trap same as others, however it doesn't excuse that there customer services has been non existent for a long time now and the company has failed to address this situation

I believe HTFR are not a small local retailer like my corner shop and has all the stock on the shop floor. Surely they must have a warehouse area where larger items and all stock available on mail order or internet is available to be picked. Its not a modern concept, even the smallest argos store has this setup and you never see them saying sorry we sold it already.

Also why didn't HTFR customer services take the time to inform me of the situation when it occurred and offer me alternative arrangements or a refund. No, they waited till a week later when i phoned to chase up the order.

And finally why didnt they arrange for ultimax to send me the items direct. Its obvious from other posts this happens alot, but HTFR want it delivered to them to send on to myself. I really think they are a poor service and should be avoided like the plague

Corabar Entertainment

....even the smallest argos store has this setup and you never see them saying sorry we sold it already.Actually, I've had that in Argos on more than one occasion!

Regarding HTFR, whilst we've experienced the lack of stock issue like others have (which can be frustrating, I agree), I have to say that we've always found their customer services very polite and helpful - oh, and they don't charge your card until the item is shipped, so there is not 'refund' to be done. (and you can cancel your order at any time before that).

We only use them if we're not needing an item urgently, and, dealing with them on that basis, they have been great, but they do need to sort out their systems to stop alienating customers.

its all a bit like blue arran.

great service and i cant fault them but the staff just dont seem to have very good personal skills.

Maybe they just hate people picking items up but i have never met a bigger group of (verging on sarcastic) intraverts?

Im probably wrong but i always feel awkward when im picking up items (often hundred of pounds) and i would rather order from the likes of htfr as it gets delivered by a friendly man from interlink or the likes and i do not have to go to the depot (southampton).

Must be a music type attitude or something? they are great at programing the sites and organizing the stock but the rest kinda gets neglected.

they need a good woman to sort out the business who is a good customer representative/marketing/logistics background.
