What do like to listen to when you're at home or in the car. What's your personal favourite artists/songs/albums?

Someone's in the mood for making babies (threads) tonight... :D

Radiohead are my all time favourite band, they are musically strides ahead of any other band/artist - going to see them in August, which will be tremendous! :teeth:

Wow, what a loaded question...

I like different sorts of music for different situations.

In the car, I generally listen to talk radio though.

Crikey - I could write you an essay...but I'll spare you. I like all sorts of stuff.

Some artists of note for me:
Barenaked Ladies / Guns N Roses / Masters At Work / Full Intention / Dire Straits

In the car, Radio 1 unless its Jo Whiney, but when that gets repetitive I stick a CD in.

I like almost everything from Metal to Musicals, and every point of the compass in between- I don't listen to music that's designed to dance to.(apart from when I'm working)

Now I could have done what most ignoramus' would have done & said Motown Soul, but as you so rightly piont out Motown is actually a record label & not a genre hence 60's/Motown/Atlantic, to signify a certain type of Soul as done by Sam & Dave, the Temptations, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin etc.... If I'd just put Motown that would have lead people to believe that I like anything the label has put out, when in reality I think that the bulk of new music (not including reissues & compilations) they've issued since about 1975 is actually total pants!

(60's style as in proper & original use of the term)Garage, Kind of covers it, even though they're (although still going) an 80's band

80's? yep, I forgot New Romantic, Futurist, Mod Revival, & Alternative :teeth:

Got to say my favourite labels to listen too for a long time was Streetwave (hip hop electro & streetsounds) followed closely by Def Jam. Now its the likes of Positiva. So my influences are disco beats with a hint of electro and hip hop, pity that hip hop electro has broken into so many sub groups now and merged with many of the soul ones as well

But my all time favourite album will be

Human Leagues - The League unlimited orchestra - Love and dancing

Favourite single is The Buggles - Video killed the radio star (so true so true)

Normally, Heart FM but I've recently been listening to Smooth FM & Magic.

Don't really listen to albums but was brought up on Jazz Funk & Soul, which is my prefered choice of music.
