I had mine cut yesterday at covers builders merchants in chichester , they were ready by this morning.

Thats 2 x 18mm birch ply sheets 1220 x 2440( not birch faced) + all the cuts = £91 , thats cheap

Funny, as not long ago one of the lads on SP ran up a design for a new mid top which never quite came about as far as I know. Originally with a P Audio SN12MB on the low and an Eminence 8 and comp on the mids / HF.

Remarkably similar to a Res 4. I'd really love to build a few and bring out the Phonic meter and SMAART!

just an update.

These are the cut panels for the tops , there are still the backs to do , 2 x 50mm holes for the ports and a recessed speakon socket.

These are the subs , I may just use one to start with , missing are the top and bottom panels , work in progress :D

I may end up tri-amping this lot , the EP2500 for the subs and a couple of matrix amps for the mid/compression drivers.

Next will be gluing and screwing the top/bottom/sides/backs and the shelf inside , then painting , wadding , electrics and the drivers fitted , hopfuly the last thing will be the front grills.

The first top assembled .
Next is to bevel the top and bottom , fill all the countersunk screw heads , and belt sand any imperfections out ( yes there are some :D )

All "T" nuts have been fitted to mount the drivers and horn.

the hole in the bottom is for a top hat fitting , square hole in the top is for the carry handle
