Hi all,
Had a booking come in for a joint 18th Birthday in a few weeks time. One of the girls is wheelchair bound and a few of her guests suffer from epilepsy. It has been requested that no strobes at all are used.
I use the Mystic LED's in general on sound to light and they go through a strobe phase so I won't use those as I'm not sure if they will work with a CA-8 Controller...however, I can use my Dynamo Scanners with the CA-8 but I haven't done so for ages so can someone remind me how I would get them to just sweep around the room and not go through the strobe phase please.
Thanks

Just plug in your CA-8 into the Master Dynamo Scanner and use the 'Mode' button I think it is to move the sequence along.
Works for me.

Cheers. It's so long since I last used them I have forgotten what's what.
So, whatever mode you put them in will stay in that mode until you change it??

no, if you have the light flashing or off then press the mode function as soon as they start strobing then they will start to strobe a bit later so you will have to keep your finger on the button. your best bet is to press the function button until the red light stays off that is slow mode and no strobing, red light on or flashing are faster modes with strobing

Thanks again. I think I may use them this weekend at another function to get used to them again.

suffer from epilepsy
Now this is where a proper DMX controller comes in handy ;)

I have a theory that lighting manufacturers deliberately play on people's ignorance of the actual symptoms / causes of photosensitive seizures (which constitute only a very minor part of thee various different types of epilepsy) by incorporating strobing into preprogrammed patterns in lighting effects, purely so that they can sell more DMX controllers.
