Image Projectors??

Had a client meeting today and they mentioned they had someone taking photographs but they were interested in having a projector.

Now im a novice in this sort of area so what I wanna ask is.

1. How does it work, I need to contact the lady because she wants to plug a hard drive into it? I was thinking it was usually SD cards? What spec and any other details/features should one have?

2. Do I rent one in or is it an extra that is commonly sold enough to warrant buying? Money is proper tight at the moment so each penny has to count at the moment.

Please could I ask that people with first hand experience offer advice rather than guess work.

I have a projector on ebay at the moment which is ideal. I have used it for the exact same purpose. Its very popular and can be a very lucrative add on.

As long as it has a vga out connector to connect to a projector and is capable of running a slideshow should be ok.

I tend to run mine as slideshows from within virtual dj, that way i can run visuals and music videos as well. (you need a pretty high specced laptop for VDJ though)

For a simple slideshow I charge £100 per function, if they want the full on video disco then they book the larger packages which work out about £150 more than the regular discos.

Looking at this as a buisness decision be it to buy or hire the equipment and what the strike rate is for people that do have it as an extra?

For the sake of the cost of hiring I would just go and buy a projector and screen if you can afford the outlay. It's not a complex thing to get working and looking good
