How do you find your friday night bookings?

I dont seem to be having many friday nights at the momment,but saturdays are mostly always booked out.

Is it just me or is this the way things are in our industry right now.

Yes I'm finding the same but I'd rather do Saturdays anyway as I've always found the punters are more difficult to get going on a Friday.... Saturdays they have time to get ready and are more relaxed which puts them in a better frame of mind.

The exception to this is club/bar work which I find is the opposite.. finish work and out on the town 'largin'it!!' ;) :D

We managed to secure a Friday Karaoke residency last year so now we just aim to take one Saturday booking a month, two Saturdays is a bonus, three is too many.

I've got far more Fridays booked this year than last year - obviously not on par with Saturday Nights, but Fridays are ok at the moment.
Last night I was approached by the venue manager after my gig wanting to know if I'd be interested in DJ'ing on a regular Friday night basis twice a month (following on from Their Comedy Club nights (insert your own gag there lads & lasses!!!!)). I said I couldn't commit there and then because of long standing bookings etc, but would email her my free Friday dates on Monday. She still wants me to DJ whatever I've got free, so Fridays are looking all good for me.

Most of my gigs this year have been Fridays and up and coming gigs also are on Fridays.

I did a quick tot up the other day and I have something like 4 Fridays booked, compared to about 10-12 on Sunday(at a gig now :D)-Thursdays!

I hardly ever get Friday bookings either.

After a quick check, I'm out most saturdays this year...and a mere 3 Fridays out of 52!

Fridays have been particulary quiet this year, I have noticed a downturn in 18ths and 21st which we used to pick up for Friday nights.

Having said that, I have become more picky also and dont take some of the Friday enquiries that we do get due to poor access, chavy venue etc where as last year its something I would have gone and done.
