That system sounds awesome with the 21" horns under it, not heard it without them... would have thought it would be lacking in very low notes as those double 15's don't go very low. Perfect for hard dance though. :)

I have no knowledge of Opus systems, however that spec looks a hotch potch of drivers (from no less than four different manufacturers). Surely that's not how Opus supply the kit new... or is it?

& I wonder how loud that little lot plays? You'd have thought the vendor would have shouted about that on the listing.

opus are a decent make,,,very popular in the west country I'm told,

I use one of their 2 way active cross overs..

and it doesnt matter what make a component (ie speaker driver) is, as long as its the best component for the application,

Yes Tony those double 15's were originally ATC drivers not Fane IIRC.. not sure about the Hi-Mid or HF but I'm sure the Low-mid Beyma's are right.

I used to roadie for a company that had some of the OPUS 2x 21" reflex boxes (25mm Ply-wood), they were back breaking to carry up stairs but OK on the flat as they had dollies that clipped to the back of them.... seriously nice boxes. :)

There is a chap named jody who works at opus, and is a big psytrance system provider!

those mid tops: at2000 are serious boxes, you would need at least 3 of their twin 18" subs to keep up with one mid top. that picture is what you call seriously top heavy!

I also think the subs were originally loaded with beyma drivers. they are supposed to complement the double 21s as the kick range in a dance system.

I often use Opus on gigs, and It is a popular choice for people who go for clarity and quality. If anyone would like to listen to some blue fuzzy boxes (I have access to 6 opus double 18s, 2 quad 15s and 2 dual 21s along with smaller series cs1000 mid tops) them drop me a pm

The kick bins are awesome but you're right it definitely needs the 21's under it... great sounding kit! :)

well the ones I have used were beyma! Will have a little snoop around in the morning to find out more, but If they were ATC I wouldn't be at all surprised...
