a couple of people that I know run Peavey Pro's. One uses Peavey (PV) amplifiers, and one uses Kam.
The one using Peavey amps is looking to upgrade them to increase sound quality, and the Crown XTI series was mentioned.
Is it really worth using XTI amplifiers, will these improve sound particularly?

Maxwell, any part of a system is only as good as the weakest link.
Crown's XTI series amplifiers are OK, they're rather like a 1 series BMW, i.e. they have the badge & that's about it.
However, on the basis the speakers in question are absolutely horrible, and you're talking about changing the amplifier and not the cabs, don't waste your pennies. You could put a big Gruppen on them and they'd still sound pants, in fact you could do the world a favour with said amplifier and send them to the speaker graveyard.

Can I ask what would be a decent upgrade from the Peavey Pro System (2x 15" tops & 2x15" subs)?
