Hi All,
After a couple of weeks of not DJ'ing it was great to have one that was good night. In a pub in Yardley, covering another DJ (own private function).
First impressions, the pub is gasto, and on arrival was welcomes by local chavs. It also says a lot that you 4 security personnel for small area.
However, not intimidated by locals, we setup with just a pair of L300, 4 x Dynos and 2 Acme MicaLED with our two playout systems.
Quiet to start with as I assumed they moved onto town, broad street (b'ham city centre) as I heard a few people say they are only here for the one.
About 9 it was starting to get more full and still playing the remixed classics. Then by 9.30 moved onto some commercial house then in to old skool. Towards the end of the night it was 4x4, bassline, and speed garage.
Ended with a few karaoke singers and some slow RnB.
About 70 to 80 people in the place. Bar staff feedback they enjoyed it and bar manager well pleased.
The only thing that went wrong was the alternator on the van is not working; after Si dropped me off.. he got a police escort home as the battery finally died and left him without lights.
Back to normal next weekend with a wedding in castle.
