What mixer do you think is best

I am going to buy a mixer but undecided between these ones.

It will be used along with my numark digital playout system

What one would you recommend.

I'm with you on this... but out of the 3 i would have the numark.. i used a the older one and i loved it until i got my denon dnx900. the quality has improved vastly I'm so happy with it cheers tom :beer1:

I've heard and used the Vestax,

The sound isn't too bad from them but I find the faders, eq & gain pots to be pretty stiff compared to Denon & Pioneer

If your playout system is Numark, why not go for the Numark mixer as well?

Think is all to do with quality of sound and what you want it to do.

Great mixer, and definitely worth the extra ££'s. I use that for my main playout. My backup mixer is a Numark, and the sound is crap compared to the Denon mixer.

I went from KAM to Denon, and noticed a huge quality increase. The Urei is of at least comparable quality.

That's a desirable quality in my opinion!

I haven't used that Vestax but the build quality of all Vestax stuff I've had has been brilliant.

I actually considered that very one a few months back, I reckon its excellent value for money as they don't manufacture 'budget' equipment. I find it odd that it is the price it is tbh.

This thread has been an eye opener for me, I'd never really noticed a difference in sound quality between mixers in the past. My ears obviously just weren't trained properly first time round!

In my case it probably had a lot to do with the fact that every other component of the system was crap!

Plus in recent times i've mostly only used different types of Pioneer mixer, mixing club tunes.

its more robust,uses better compones, more user friendly & every channel can be replaced when the get worn..

its just in another league.

Denon X-500 here too. Apparently it sounds even better when I dont let it clip ....

Everything falls to hand easily and the matrix input is handy too.

used denon mixer for past two years and wouldnt use anything else, well maybe a pioneer but sound quality is fab from my x1500 :D

no but if you look upon it as a SOUND (pauses for laugher to die down) investment. I'd happily bet my denon out lasts a numark or similiar brand so I may not get more work but would cut down on costs in the long run.

Anyway back on topic i quite like the looks of the denon x500 but i cant quite see my budget stretching that far :(

But im quite happy with my Kam pro 500 ( waits for the slateing on that one )

Out those three, if thats you final choice, the Vestax one is the best of the 3, without a doubt.
Only thing that lets it down is that it has now channel level indicators.

Now THAT is a mixer!! Urei's sound quality is exceptional. The EQs sound more like filters they're that smooth :heart1:

Components & build quality!!

A Ford Focus and a Bugatti Veyron both have engines and wheels, but one of those is soooo much better than the other!

Denons are favoured by a fair few on here, the sound quality is better (and louder) than any Numark, American DJ, Kam, Kool Sound, Stanton etc....

As Darren says, next stage then, is the big boys! Pioneer, Formula Sound & Allen & Heath

just an update as to what i bought.

I now have a denon x500 mixer
and

a vestax

The vestax mixer is excellent value for money,very well built and sounds amazing compared to the numark c2 which i had before.

the denon x 500 mixer is untested untill this weekend.

These are 2 diffenent systems,im just useing the numark dds digital playout on both of them.
