Still awaiting a booking deposit after a month, was told I'd receive this over 2 weeks ago...

Have told the client I will no longer hold the date after the end of this week.

Does that seem fair?

Thats more then fair, I have a 14 day return policy after 14 days the date is open to other clients that may want a disco on that date.

I don't hold any date without an initial payment, which most do pretty quickly online. After that I allow up to 14 days for the return of the booking form.

I had to wonder too - I was at an unfair disadvantage though as I didn't think TXT speak was allowed!

Also 14 days is an awful long time in the current climate - I don't reserve dates as such, if a prospect signals their intention to book I offer them 7 days to return the booking forms (signed!) and the booking fee - if i have any other enquiries for the requested date within those 7 days i offer to call/email the original prospects, 90% of the time (although not intentionally played this way on my part) those prospects book there and then online.

It seems VERY fair to me.

How many chances to they want?

By the end of this week, at least you'll know whether they're serious about wanting this booking.

If not, you'll know it's available for future enquirers.

I was being to helpful to the client I believe as I said I normally only hold dates for 7 days - until payment is received. But I was being genorous when I said I would hold it until the end of the month (April - payday for client), but keep getting emails promising payment which never seems to arrive.

My genorousity has ran out!

And I entitled the post 'wow' because I couldn't believe the amount of time I've had to wait for payment I do state 7 days - it's on my booking agreement and on the FAQ of my website.

Wow = amazement - it's not txt slang it's in the dictionary :p

Fair enough, but as a thread title, it doesn't really mean anything, hence my question. When people use the search facility, they aren't going to find anything on this thread, but if you called it ""waiting time for a deposit" or something similar, then it might be more useful. :)

I had one from Feb who only got back too me last week!
I have emailed her again and nothing for one week.

I have had another booking for a nice house party for £350 and took it.

She has had plenty of time too book the gig and knew that. tough!
I could turn the new one away and loose both.

I've got the opposite problem at the moment. I've got a client who wants to book a major party (came through MDD, btw).

The deposit on this one is more than quite a few people charge for a whole evening. She paid that pronto.... but I am chasing and chasing for the booking form!
