I've only had one new request this month! Everything else had already been in the charts, or was an old album track.

I very rarely play new tunes, generally people at functions don't dance to what they don't know.

Where do you play all your upfront tunes then Badger?

do regular club work mon to thurs dependant on bookings coming in an do lots of guest appearances etc at various clubs n pubs that have varied dj's can do 3 venues in one night can be quiet hectic with the disco work as a sideline on top or as a filler

I've not even heard of any of those apart from Infernal.

Doesn't seem to be anything decent about the charts thesedays.

You must be raking it in too, especially after you said in another thread that you don't go out cheap in bars and clubs!

Love the Automatic and the Zutons new tune.

Yeah why are young people so stupid? Cammy and Rankin both put together old rubbish and play it too fast- you can get the same affect by over use of the pitch control.

Funny that, because at the gig I did on Monday (16- 20 y/o) it was the more indie orientated stuff that went down best.

Yep.. i agree with Corabar, not all that many people like Dj Cammy etc. The prom i did this week was mainly commercial dance, rnb and some classics. I was asked for DJ cammy and an obscure pendulum track... but you just know its gonna clear the floor and leave a group of 5-6 lads for all of a minute until they realise all the girls have disappeared!

I got my school prom this coming Sunday. Aparantly, there is going to be a lot of slow songs being played throughout the night! This disappoints me because i like the music to be quite upbeat and danceable to! It wouldn't be to bad if i had a girl to go with but unfortunately, i havn't

I'll post about the prom on Monday to tell you what sort of music was played. :)

I wish i was DJing it but our ICT Technician runs his own mobile disco, of which i have yet to see! He does most of our school discos as he does them for free, of which i couldn't oblige with as i have to pay my dad a hire charge/roadie fee in order to use his equipment, which is fair as he pays me when i roadie for him.

I was supposed to be DJing a party last Sunday (25th) but the lad from school couldn't sell the tickets to pay for it. To say the least, my dad was a little cheesed off as he had turned away several bookings for that evening just so i could do that one.

Oh well, c'est la vie!

how did you get NOW 1 - 3 on CD, the NOW range only started on CD from now 4 onwards.

The NOW 4 original CD is currently selling for £200 on ebay as they only made 200,000 copies, i have seen copies go for £380 before !

Now 4 was the first CD, and a single CD containing tracks from the vinyl Now 3 and Now 4 albums.

Due to poor sales of Now 4 CD (not many people had CD players in 1984), Now 5 and Now 6 were not released on CD at all

CD versions resumed with Now 8 and Now 9 - both single CDs containing a "best of" selection from the corresponding vinyl albums.

The first double Now CD as we know it was Now 10

Now 10 to Now 28 were released in the chunky double CD case, from Now 29 they changed to the slim double CD case

Now 4 is the only one I'm missing in my CD collection, and yes, they do fetch silly money on ebay (I was outbid at £300 on a copy last year!)

Beware of imitations and "unofficial" early Now CDs being sold on ebay, I have seen copies of double Now 1 to 9 being sold, they are CDRs and NOT original discs.

Daz, are you inferring it's geeky to listen to Now 23 on one's discman whilst sitting at the end of Platform 5 at Reading General, notebook in one hand, peanut butter sandwich in the other?
