Well, freshly back from my first NADJ Tradeshow and I have to say.... A little dissapointed.
Dont get me wrong, I appreciate the NADJ as an organisation and its target to unite the industry and raise the humble DJ's profile, but as far as exhibitions go... Not really impressed
I was looking forward to seeing a couple of exhibitors one of which wasn't there- PCDJ.
I did manage to catch the Denon stand and the Toplite guys, but having a conversation about the products over the constant battle of the PA systems was a bit of a chore. This leads me to my main criticism... why would every exhibitor with a PA feel the need to compete with one another? Surely the best option would have been to put all the PA's in one room and do a demo of all the systems for comparison every 20 minutes or so???
I would also have like to have seen more manufacturers there and not just retailers. We all know where to buy kit from but I for one would like to play with the new equipment and see the latest developments, not just find out who can sell it to me cheaper.
I do however, wish the NADJ every success, I will be signing up as a member very soon. Thanks for a Sunday were I could be nerdy and geeky and gawp over new toys.
