Best of luck!

Remember just to take your time, particularly when performing manoeuvres in isolation - such as reversing into a space. You won't be marked down for going slow!

I was always taught to set the mirror so that I had to move my head to use it. Thus the examiner sees you doing it. Better luck next time.

Sorry to hear that Callum :(

If you're anything like me, I tend to just move my eyes to check my mirrors rather than moving my whole head.

When I was learning to drive, my instructor assumed I wasn't checking my mirrors because he didn't notice me doing it. However, after several 'spot checks' (he used to cover the rear view mirror suddenly with his hand and ask me what was behind me at the time) he agreed it was a perceptual thing as I always got it right, and told me to make sure that I moved my head when I took my test, or else the examiner might make the same assumption!

Unlucky :(

Not checking your mirrors isn't a major fault though is it, I assume you were marked down on more than one occassion?

No 9 times in total! I don't know why! Just found out that the instructor has been like this to alot of people. :Censored:

Me to.

Was also taught if you take your hand off the wheel to check the mirror....any slightest movement of the hands to check the mirror.

...better luck next time mate - all the best people pass 2nd time anyway! :D

Best to check your mirrors every 3 seconds. Centre, left then right mirror, all the time and every time. It may seem a lot but you need to prove that you are looking where you are going as well as looking around the car.

Some examiners can be a right nasty piece of work and some can be OK.

I failed on mirrors on my first test but only got a few minors on my second test. One being speed...........
