Good morning everyone, if you were working last night, hope you had a good one.
Just wondering if anyone who uses DEX has the same problem as I am having at the moment.
It seems to happen after about an hour or so into the night. When using the search field it turns an olive green colour and freezes the search. ie does not find the track (although I know the track does exist ).
The programme doesn't actually crash, but I am unable to search for any more tracks (olive green still showing in search field).
If I want to do any more searching, I have to close DEX down and re-open, which obviously is not an ideal situation.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Mike.

Hi Mike.
I know this is an older thread , did you ever find out the cause of this glitch ?

Hello Jack, Thanks for asking. The answer is no, I am still having the occasional problem when searching.
As per instructions from the PCDJ guys I tried the following:
(1) Moved all my music to the "D" drive (I had it split between "C" and "D")
(2) Deleted and rebuilt the tag cache
(3) Deleted a lot of the old logs (history)
I thought that this had solved the problem, but it still appears every now and again (possibly once every four or five gigs) It is not that big a deal, but when it does freeze, it means closing down and restarting, which obviously is not ideal.
I think it may be my disco laptop because I downloaded a version on my home laptop and it seems to be ok.
Sorry for the long drawn out reply, you possibly only wanted a simple yes or no! :)

I had the same problem on VRM FX. They say it is due to the amount of songs you have in one folder and they recommend limiting the amount in each to below a certain figure although I cant remember what it is.

That's interesting, although I have never heard anyone suggest that.

Yep your right, the old vrm range had a limit of 6000 files in a folder but I believe all the software that came along after vrm did not have this restriction.
