Saturday Wedding for 400 people in Denby Dale.
A huge tastefully converted Barn.Backing an OUTSTANDING band.It was fine but I had two Amps and they were clipping like mad all night.I know my place in the market so wonder if any of the larger guys would like to drop them a card.
They said they would love to have me back again....but I know I only got away with it on a wing-and-a-prayer.
The Lady Owner loved my tiny Starcloth and is considering having the roof done.Their maybe some opportunities for the Suppliers of Add-Ons here as well. The place was crying out for uplighting and a larger Starcloth.
I took a couple of awful pictures...but they do give you some idea of the size. The photographer is emailing me some better ones!!
The owners name is Rachel!!;) ;)

I'm pleased.....
They don't have a Resident as far as I know!!
There is some real cash in Denby Dale....
You'll also need an exceptional light show.
If anybody else is it would be nice to know....like Cool Hand did....;) ;) ;)

Martin, the person who booked you obviously didnt know your place in the market ;) and im guessing were happy with what you done.
Why not take this opportunity to up your place in the market. Surely with a little equipment tweaking your sound system could be improved if thats all your worried about. Even if you have to spend a little money, if your get decoent paid fairly regular work from it, surely its worth it. And you never know where the work leads to.

Nice comments Steve...Thank You.
However you are advising somebody who is drifting majestically towards Retirement.I'd rather do smallish jobs well ....than trying to bite off more than I can chew.....probably hard to explain to somebody who is 25...;) ;) ;)
My worst Nightmare is to commit myself to somebodies big day....and then not provide a fantastic service.I was a couple of notches away from that on Saturday!!!

An unexpected update....
Really surprised to get a message from the Propeitor of this venue.I didn't think I was on form but she has said I am the best that has been there and asked me back to do her Sisters Wedding and a Charity Function.
I have a meeting with the Propeitor on Sunday to finalise things. If anybody of the Add-On boys want the opportunity for me to promote their products please let me know.
I think I could sell it to her by saying so and so wants to provide uplighting etc at a much reduced rate so that you can see how it transforms the venue.
What I think I'm looking for is someone forward looking to POSSIBLY work with me....reduce their normal prices....with a view to securing some future business....with the propeitor recommending their services.I'm pretty sure she's not the type to be shelling out £700 on a dance floor...there's one already down.
She was impressed with my little ol' Starcloth tho.....
Am I making sense:eek:

Good luck with it

Paul....Thanks but that wasn't the purpose of the thread.
The lady clearly has a trust in me that I can use to mine and someone elses advantage.I want to involve someone else....not nick his gear and pretend its mine....thats not my way!!
I'll do what I'm good at....and farm out what I have no experience in.Your Website says you have uplighting???When I speak to Rachel I will say.....I know of another company who will make your venue look really special....and he'll do it at so and so for your Sisters wedding. When they have been suitably impressed ...you then have a contact for the uplighting /Add-Ons for her future dates....and I have retained providing the Entertainment.
Nonetheless ...your offer was appreciated.....just want to make the most of the situation!!:beer1: :beer1:
