New Kit Wanted - Help Deciding!

My playout setup currently consists of a numark cd mix2 (built in 4 channel mixer and 2x cd player) which i have a laptop running a bcd3000 controller which is plugged into the aux channel of the numark cd mix unit.
This way i had the laptop formain playout and if i had a problem then i could use cds on the cd mix unit.
However i dont think this is completely fail proof. If the numark cd mix unit goes down I could use the master output from the bcd controller straight into the amp.
But now, one of the cd players on the cd mix unit is playing up and im thinking i could relegate this unit as a backup and get something else.

Im gonna have to look at something that i can get finance on but i can put a deposit down and pay back in 12 months.

What would you guys suggest? Another cd/mixer unit all in one OR a seperate mixer unit in a flightcase (and have my portable cd players or another laptop as backup)?

What would you use?

The amp im getting is a behringer 4000 amp and im going to keep my waudio 1400w amp as backup so this puts my budget for the above around £250 - £300. Less is better!

Personally i would go for a seperate mixer/cd player system, and there not overly expensive if your wanting entry level stuff.

The way that i have my box set up is that i have my main mixer and cd players with my laptop, but ive also got a secont 2U back up mixer permanantly wired in using RCA splitters. If my main mixer should die, then its a 2 second job to switch on the backup and everything continues as was. If the cd players die, the laptop is the back up, if the laptop dies then ive got a sleever of popular cds, but also carry a second laptop.

Sounds similar to what im proposing. Im looking at something like this:

This comes in a case as well to save expense and the cds will only be used as backup as i got a laptop with controller and then a 2nd backup laptop.

Or i was thinking just go for a standalone 4 or 5 channel mixer with case and then have the laptop as main, 2nd laptop as backup and portable cds / ipod as 3rd backup. If mixer goes down then i got the numark cd mix2 to use.

What do you think?

If that CD player makes it through 20 gigs without missing a beat I will faint.

I bought a KAM CD player once. It lasted 2 songs and had to be replaced with my old CDN22.

Yes, got to agree, I bought some off Tony , which I use as a secondary playout and they have never once played up.

I gave everything a good service, took everything apart and gave everything a good spraying with switch cleaner etc and put it all back together again.
At the moment both players on my numark cd mix2 are now working fine.

Ive tried everything out and im having a prob with VDJ stopping midway through a track using my controller so ive installed traktor onto my backup laptop and also got pcdj red on my main laptop just in case.

Anyone else had any probs with KAM as it looks like a maybe going that route or maybe standalone mixer.
