Club DJ's and Event UK

Hello All,

If this is in the wrong section, please move accordingly and accept my apologies.

Anyway, I just wanted to ask if any of you, mainly higstreet jocks, have had any experience with Event uk?

I recently started working for a known highstreet pub chain, and in order to be paid, I have to invoice a 3rd party dealing with the money-Event uk.

I was booked direct by the pub, but I had to sign up and give lots of details to this company who seem no more than a 'middle man'. They accept no responsibility for either the paying client or the peformer, but still seem happy to be in charge of the money.

Their website eventuk.co.uk gives me the idea that they are hoping to cash in on getting a number of DJ's on the books and then playing them off each other to get the best deal for the clubs/pubs. etc.

Dont get me wrong, I've no reason to complain about them yet, other than they have an outstanding invoice, but I was hoping to see if any of you guys have worked with them yet?

Anyu knowledge would be appreciated

hi ya
i have worked for them for a few years every now and then and never had any trouble althou you have to wait for a while to get your money but to be fair i have always been paid.. my mate as worked for them every week for years and he is happy. youy sign up and get a gig list sent via e mail

Just spotted this thread and I was wondering the same.

I'm assuming you work for the Barracuda Group too, who have just taken on Event UK to manage payments?

There was quite a bit of uproar when they introduced this, mainly because we've been told each gig will now attract a £5 reduction.

I've got to work 3 weeks in arrears now before I get my first BACS payment.

Be interesting to see whether they pay me correctly.

John, thanks for your reply, gives me a little more confidence. I will let everyone know the timescale from invoice to payment.

Its actually Yates' that I started Jocking for. But I think Barracuda and Yates are all part of te same group???? (correct me if i got that wrong)

yes mate thats who i worked for, also edward bars and littentree..
yes you normaly wait 3 weeks but if you are doing it every week you will always be paid every week once you done 3 weeks anyway, mplus when you leave you will get paid for 3 weeks after. as i said me and my mate never had a problem
