Speaker with subwoofer advice

Looking at getting a new setup. Budget is around €1500.
Will be using it for parties/weddings in pubs/function rooms etc.

Looking at getting a subwoofer and 2 tops.
Have seen these on thomann

That's what I have experience of. Somebody else will soon be along with other suggestions, including going active. :D :D :D

If matching one pair of tops with one pair of those 15" subs, I'd look at a slightly larger top box, although having said that, I couldn't see how loud the subs play anywhere on that spec.

A pair of 116dB (cont/peak/measured/calculated/who knows?) tops aren't going to be a flexible all-round multi application box.

I used a rig recently that consisted of 2 KME tops off 1 KME subwoofer. The tops were smaller than the ones I've listed. Sound was very nice so that's why I was gonna go down a similar route.

I've had the ART300 and been happy with the sound off them.
I'd like to stick with a brand I know.
There's also a sound centre nearby which stocks must of the good brands so I will get to hear before I buy! I've seen the Class D stuff reccomended countless times but don't know anywhere that stocks them.

Oh and also is the amp rating on bin same as a 'normal' amplifier. Here it's 800W but in the past I've used 1200W, 1400W etc.

Usually I suggest a trip to Mansfield, but in your case I'll make an exception!! :D :D

Well I might have exaggerated just a tad. Only a tad mind. :o :o With amps and a crossover, my Class D rig would cost about £1100, so not so far off the price of the RCF rig. RCF will always be louder, but in the opinion of many folk, won't necessarily sound better. That RCF rig you showed sounds good value. However: I'd still be inclined to ring Class D, it's definitely worth the price of a phone call.

RCF rig is expensive compared to Class D stuff. I don't mind paying for something that fills my needs. But if I can get value elsewhere...

Sound is personal. There are folk on here who love Peavey. There are those who hate it with a vengeance. Same with Mackie. RCF doesn't have many against it, except for cost, and even then they still reckon it's good value for money. Whatever you narrow it down to LISTEN FIRST. Good luck.
