Hi all,
Yesterday I was on a mission and went through my lock up and sorted out loads of stuff. I ended up chucking various bits out either because I hadn't used them for ages or they were in need of some serious TLC and I don't have the time to do it.
Anyway, I found some stuff that I haven't used since I started self employed around 5 years ago now and I also reliased that there was also some stuff that I had purchased that I have never used!
One of those was a Source Samurai light 250w. It is still in mint condition in it's box. If I remember correctly, it was only about £100.00 when I bought it (Source are budget lights I think?) so I tested it last night with some haze in the house and it's a great little light with quite a wide coverage so I think I may start using it on the rig.
Anyone else done this before? You know, you find something you forgot all about and then start using it? I also had some Source Stage Colour lights too that were'nt in cases and right at the bottom of whole load of stuff. They were rusty and covered in cobwebs but still worked. They were only cheap things and I didn't think I could use them again so I chucked them but I also remembered that these particular lights used to eat 250w bulbs for breakfast. They would run for around 2 hours and then blow out so I stopped using them. That was back in the day when I used to have them behind me (a bit like Uplighting before it got so popular).
Found a few other things like a big box of Speak on leads, phono leads and adaptors and bulbs etc so I have probably saved myself a few quid.
Just wondered if anyone had done the same kind of thing?
