Following from a PLI thread, out of interest does anyone advertise with these guys? Obviously funk does and I'd say he seems to be getting some pretty good results from it too. Its £36 for 2 areas if you already have PLI with someone else, worth a punt I'd say, no? ;) :D


When my PLi came up for renewal, I looked around and found out about AMPDJ and their offer of membership and PLi for £49.00 Being the suspicious person that I am, I checked out the offer and the cover, it beats every other deal hands down IMO. The fact that they also included passing on enquiries for the area that I picked, I thought that was probably a pipe dream, but at £49 the insurance was worth it.

I've just checked, 4 months into the deal, I have received 43 enquiries from them, all with telephone no's and email addresses, AND managed to convert over 40% of the enquiries into bookings.

All I'm saying is that it's worked for me. :cool: ;)

Same for me. The PLI is OK and I've taken gigs from them too so overall, very useful. I gather they are also arranging some local get togethers throughout the UK in 2010 where members can meet up along with a few manufacturers etc.

I have my PLI with them too. I have read through the policy wording and it is a pretty standard liability wording with a few extensions such as dry hire for DJ's. It is with a reputable company - RSA through their Croydon office which is an office I used to deal with for insurance schemes in my dark days when I worked in insurance. They were one of the better insurers to deal with (and one of the last few British owned insurance companies) so I had no problem signing up with them.

I have also had a few enquiries but it must depend on what area you are in as not much local and the enquiries I have had have mainly been for childrens parties where they wanted cheap and not my target market. I have been a member since about last September and only had about a dozen enquiries, none of which have come to anything.

I have the PLI and 2 areas, total cost is £67. I have had several enquiries, but to be honest you need to be very fast off of the mark to confirm any of them, especially in this area!

I believe these are the people who are behind the Mobile DJ Newsletter email, who published a list of DJ organisations & forums a couple of issues back. (Correct me if I'm wrong & if I am I apologise to AMPdj for associating them with the Newsletter)

Hi Tony, I dont have any problem with RSA, used to work for them and my PL/EL with them for 30years;) dog and house covered with them now.:D

My only query was the requirement to adhere to the specific the rules of the Association which appeared an additional requirement for the PLI cover as opposed to having a policy direct with an insurer who would expect reasonable precautions to be taken but not have them specifically written down.:confused:

Are they a good source of advertising and getting enquiries,apart from the pli insurance which is offered.

I have heard from another dj who is listed with them and he says that you get plenty of enquiries.

What is your thoughts on this one?

I have spoken to Sandy(female variety.....down tiger) on the number provided.My Insurance with Liability Guard expires in July...I shall definately be switching at the next DJ meet they have round here in June.

Sandy was really laid back....explained the service fully....and was not in the slightest bit pushy.It was nice to be able to actually speak to a person regarding the service particularly on a bank holiday weekend...suitably impressed.:) :) :)

Thats me switched as well when my PLI comes up in September as seemed like a good service from the web site and believe it or not I trust old 70's tashes judgement :eek:

God help and protect me! That is two Yorkshiremen I have taken advice from this year. Now has anyone got any advice about headwear and dogs?

Oh and if Robs in too it has to be good value. If that could be taken in two ways I mean it in the nice way. Promise.
