Hi just inherited a pair of cdj 1000 mk2's and was wondering which version of serato I need with it?

First time I'm going to hook all this up so any help would be great!

The CDJ communicates with Serato software via a timecoded CD. This means that the version of Serato has no bearing on the CDJ's operation.

The timecoded signal is deciphered by the Serato hardware which communicates with the software on your computer.

It is important you check what the best version of Serato for your computer specifications is.

What he said.

Current software for serato is 2.0, which can be quite resource intensive when you get into the sampler and FX unit.

and if the question is .. do i need an SL1 or SL3, then either will work but the SL3 is a newer, higher quality unit that you can use 3 decks on.

Although to be fair, having recently used SL3, you will only tell the diference in sound quality on very high end systems.

As for the 3 decks...well if your wanting to go that way.....get Traktor!
