Hi all
just a bit of advice required.
whenever i record movies of my discos the dance floors always look too dark. i currently use 2 x dynamo 250 2 x dynarock 250 1 x adj tri-led and a megabar as an uplight behind me. oh and an ledj starcloth on my stand.

has anyone else thought the same. i'm thinking of getting a couple of led par 64s or 56s to brighten up the floor.
what do you think???

Like 'em or loathe 'em you can't beat an ImpossibLED for painting a dancefloor. Although I use it's grown-up cousin the Matrix just because I prefer the patterns.

I agree with Martin.

They do fill a dancefloor and look pretty cool on videos!

They are unfeasibly bright.

Dots, yes. But very bright ones :)

I have added 2 LED pars to my truss along with an ImpossibLED (I'm not much of an LED fan, but the impossibLED really does cover a large area) and the dancefloor is a lot brighter now.

par 56 or 64

I put them on the floor pointing up and make use of white walls and ceilings.

I'd recommend the Vasio one's more.

They are more intelligent.

Par 56 mate.

Just bought 4 more to do that ;)

The ones I use are the 'CPC' equivilent called Pulse. They're still £30 each, but "UK sourced", rather then from Thomann.

Not an issue if you use DMX, like myself. Although I believe the Vasio's are brighter, not sure by how much - but it's what I've heard.

Yeah!!! Seriously though, DMX is fantastic - takes a little while to get used to (computer controlled DMX is easy) but is excellent, and means you can spend a little less when it comes to the LED pars. Although I'm sure the "professional stage lighting" posse with their fancy pars will offer some different advice ;) :p

thomann sell the ones with 10mm LEDs as opposed to the CPC 5mm LEDs. is there much difference?

My mate has the Thomann ones, and I have the CPC ones - and mine seem brighter?

I have just done the paypal bit and got the receipt etc. Do I need to log out and then in again? Also, how did you put your 'learner on the road' text under your name?

We have technical difficulties atm that we can't track down and the 'supporters' status isn't happening automatically as it should!

Gis a minute Gary! :D

It's the very last forum, under the main forum section. They have to manually change the account status, as Angie has said!

I use Chauvet ShowXpress and LOVE it! It's so much better than ADJ MyDMX, and isn't far off Daslight. If you have a pretty powerful laptop, I think you could run music & lights. However, the DMX software requires 'constant alterations' to change between light shows. So, I would recommend two laptops...
