Hi guys

Did a Wedding last night at a local Venue http://www.durrantshouse.com/
and it was a great night with nice people but, about half an hour before the finish time, a taxi pulls up and the driver walkes over the window where i am sett up, i open the window and asked the driver who the taxi is for " the bride and groom" he replys  .
Now, this was a suprise to me as i they had not told anyone and before i could let the guests know, the bride and groom were outside and getting ready to get into the taxi, so i quickly anounce to the guests that the happy couple were leaving and they all rush outside.
It was ok in the end with all the guests saying there goodbys.
I made a few funny remarks about how sudden that all was when the guests came back into the venue and the guests did see the funny side of it.
Perhaps they were shy.:)

I've played there before.
No taxis though.

Very odd!

What a way to leave your wedding reception in style!

I've had that before where the B&G have just quietly slipped away an hour or two before the end.

Come to think of it, me and my wife did that at our wedding, though we did end up spending about an hour sat on the wall outside the hotel waiting for a taxi as one of our guests nicked ours :D

I must be doing something wrong, because every wedding ive ever done, the B&G are the last standing and last too leave :)

Did you not think that they might have wanted to slip away quietly and that by making the announcement you were spoiling their moment?

I've had every permutation over the years and occasionally I get a B&G who wish to slip away and not have a fuss made until well after they've gone.

Odd of them not to have at least mentioned it to you though ... here's hoping they didn't tell you because they really did want it to be quiet!

My thoughts exactly.

If the Bride & Groom hadn't said anything to me, I don't think I'd have mentioned anything on the mic.

Didn't think you had a mic?
