Watched an audience with tonight, and after playing two or three of his songs as background music last night, i have to say that Mr Buble was great on the tv, he sounded the same as he does on the cds, great singer.

I always play havn't met you yet in the early part of a disco when everyone's just sitting chatting. Always a good foot tapper and always gets a few singing along
Seem to appeal to all ages. On a personal note his music isn't my cup of tea.
But if it's what people like then it has to be played

I would love to see him live, I think he's brilliant!!!
On his program tonight, I thought he was very funny and you could tell he wasn't really taking the questions seriously haha.

He is good at what he does, I can respect that.
Unfortunately, I find his music as dull as the sky in November, and I don't know how he doesn't get bored of singing these songs.

That's an age thing, when I was 27 I would never have believed that I would mellow into appreciating what I then regarded as utter crap, but all of a sudden I can't get enough of it!:)

Regularly requested by youngsters too.
You could've knocked me down with a feather at a recent 13th when after a run of high energy stuff including Prodigy, Pendulum, Riverside etc. I got a karaoke request for "Haven't met you yet" which the whole room went crazy for. If I'd had 100 mics they would have all been used :o And as for Broken Strings right after it, I'm surprised we didn't have environmental health on the doorstep :D

Good? He's brilliant. ;) I personally don't like the style a lot, but his voice is outstanding.
Good showman and great music.
Showman, yes. Music, not for me.
There was definitely some outboard autotune going on, but a nice show
all the same. Too clean by far, but good viewing.

Weird, I was just about to say the same thing, a little bit of Antares on his voice for sure, subtle but definitely being used, I agree.

Cheers. I usually get slated for Buble questioning, but it was assisted vocals last night for sure.

That is not fair as he is very good at what he does. It just happens that the two times I have witnessed him on telly he has had some outboard help.

I think that is slightly different and Timmy Mallet was just rubbish.
It is not that easy to pull off decent swing numbers, it does take a certain type of voice and timing. So many do it badly.

Agreed, so many do it badly, but would you also agree that so many do it really well and have been doing it really well for the last 60 years?
where's his originality?
It's music for bored housewives to put in their shopping trollies when they're whizzing round the asda, that's my opinion
I listen to swing all the time and I'm neither bored or a housewife. I enjoy the variations that come through with it and like modern artists take on some of the classics. Williams did a good job on some classics and Buble does the same whilst adding some co-written newbies to the mix.
I admit its not cutting edge but neither in my opinion is young men running around boasting of how many cars they have, how many gardening tools
they used (hoes) or how many caps they have inserted in peoples bottoms.
It is harmless entertainment and its a nice show. A large amount of the world's population like just that - a nice show from a charming young man. No harm in it.

If you're talking about who does commercial swing music for the masses better?
Then my answer is i don't really know as it's not the kind of muzak i listen to
Go down any local social club and you'll more than likely see some old geezer performing the same stuff but without all the fake smiles, expensive suits, backing dancers, glitter & flashing lights, that i do know.

I do like the style, that was done 50/60 years ago by all the big band crooners.

Did Sinatra?, Dean Martin?, Sammy Davis Jnr? Elvis Presley even? that is totally irrelevant! His interpretations of the Great American Songbook bring a new slant, to classic songs - good singer, entertainer, and adds in some of his own songs as well, which stand up alongside - and when did having a songwriting collaborator become a crime? (Lennon & McCartney, Jagger & Richard, Rodgers & Hart)

Not very WELL.
Lots of things, just nothing about michael buble
And with not a single scrap of credible reasoning, too.
s club 8 and timmy mallet are also very good at what they do, but do they deserve any musical credability?
Very good at what they do, or well marketed?
Agreed, so many do it badly, but would you also agree that so many do it really well and have been doing it really well for the last 60 years?
where's his originality?
And Martin and Sinatra covering the Great American Songbook, sometimes two or three times at different tempos or with different orchestras, are original?
It's music for bored housewives to put in their shopping trollies when they're whizzing round the asda, that's my opinion
An opinion based on absolutely no fact and precious little in the way of reason, too.
The Rat-Pack is ALL about the expensive suits and the debonair attitude - if you don't know that you don't actually know Martin, Sinatra and Davis Jr well enough to comment.
Look, i don't want to get into a debate about the guy, i think he's a bag of, and some of you think he's the best thing since, and we'll leave it at that.
Why? Because you can't support your opinion with anything approaching clarity?
But please, don't even mention the guys name in the same sentence as Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jnr Elvis Presley, Lennon & McCartney, Jagger & Richard.
And as mentioned there's no reason at all to put Bublé in a different league from the Rat-Pack, and as Elvis also wrote not one of his songs and was also all about fake smiles and fancy clothes...
You can't compare song writing duos in rock to crooners because Cole Porter and the Gershwins, Khan & Jones and Rodgers & Hammerstein wrote the music in the 30s, 40s and 50s - very little is being added to the Great American Songbook these days. It seems to me that you only make the comparison with them as it suits your tastes, but for the same reason that Lennon & McCartney, Jagger & Richard might be cooler than Bublé they're also cooler than the Ratpack.
He's the king of the cruise ship singers, like noel gallagher is the king of the buskers
Another ridiculous statement with not an ounce of credible supporting commentary.
