Does anyone use twitter or facebook as a promotional tool for their business? I am currently in the final stages of having my website designed by a professional and am just wondering if there is any real benefit to adding a twitter feed. I like to keep things fresh with current trends but fear this could be completely pointless..

I've noticed a lot of discos set up facebook pages.

It's certainly not for me....however twitter might be a nice idea.

I don't think twitter has any use but Facebook is good because you can add promo pics/vids for clients and can easierly contact you etc

This is the dilemma, I don't want to annoy my friends by posting nonsense about the latest bit of gear I have just bought on facebook. Presumably a new business account with a public listing would be the way to go

As for twitter, putting a tweet of every track I have just played at a gig might get a bit tiring.. :)

You don't have to invite your friends to join the page, they only get updates if they accept to join.

I'm not being horrible Scott but you have 116.

6 of them are DJ's.

..Yet your saying things like:

"If you book our services before 31st May 2010, we will give you a generous discount!!!

Birthdays & Other Events = Discount of £20!

Wedding Receptions = Discount of £50!"

It just doesn't work for me. :o

I don't use Social Networking. I once tried Bebo but it's not for me.

...and about 70% of them I have no idea who they are! I put a link on my website and then quite a few people seemed to just appear! :D
