Wanted: Amp

Looking to invest in a half decent amp, price range again unsure but im on a budget so id think about the £150 mark now i know this is little money but budget is tight :(

A new Behringer EP series amp will cost slightly more than that, they are "half decent" budget amps, I guess you may pick one up secondhand for around your budget figure.

You also may pick up an older, branded amp for around that figure, something like a V800 or PPX series - very heavy but built to last.

They're not the best, but they are a lot better than many other amplifiers that don't even warrant being described as entry level, and cost as much if not more.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Behringer user (wrong level) or a Behringer fan for that matter, but I don't deny they have a few products (the EP amps & DCX DSP in particular) which provide bloody good value at a very low price point, which are widely used and respected on the free party scene, which is a good testiment to their build quality and reliability.

Justin's also got one. He got it cos it seems so similar to the C Marks that we both love.

I suspect Justin has. ;) :D :D The T Amp don't have the bridge socket. Appears to be the only visual difference.

I can definitely recommend the t-amp 2400's & 1050's plus the Behringer EP's, I have several of each and have had no problems whatsoever.The Berry's are over 5 years old and the t-amps about 4yrs. :approve:

I noticed these the other day but I'm not sure... they 'look' a bit basic and cheap. Anyone had any experience of them? http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tamp_tsa_2200.htm

I'm just giving my recommendations based on what I use for a variety of applications, bigger the better as you can never have too much headroom IMO...

I use:

1 Behringer EP1500 on HF horns,
1 t-amp 1050 on hi-mids,
1 t-amp 2400 on low-mids,
2 Behringer EP2500's on 'Precision Devices' Kick-Bass cabs
2 Behringer EP2500's on 'Precision Devices' Sub-Bass cabs
1 t-amp 1050 on full range monitors
1 t-amp 2400 on full range Martin Audio 3 way full range cabs

... :)
