RCF705AS - faulty signal LED?

I have 2 of the subs and last night I was using the one I don't normally use and I noticed the led for the signal staying on.

Everything else appears to be working correctly - I could change the level etc and it sounded fine. I use the same cables as they are prewired to the mixer - in other words, they stay in the case.

Normally, the LED will flicker when you get the initial signal and then stay on if you start to push it a little more.

Could it just be a problem with the LED?

Hi,if i remember rightly as i used to have a pair of these the led should come on and stay on if you are driving them hard bit like a peak meter on a amp so under use should flicker on or off were do you have the little pot volume controll set.

The gain pot is set at about 9 oclock and even when there is no audible signal the led is full on.

I'm totally not well versed in Active cabs, but I'd say it sounds like a job for a man who mends such things.

I have just looked out the user manual for these do you have one as there is some good information on what the led status means at what it represents if you dont have one it can be downloaded from the RCF site.I used to run mine with the pot right round at 5 oclock.

Is it possible you have a faulty feed cable? Have you tried around the other way with cable? I can't see led staying on due to a fault, they tend to die as a preferance.
I wondered if a cross contact in the signal cable was making the sub think it was recieving a full signal. I remember a friend who had a fault and thought his sub was working but it turned out the other sub was covering for it and it wasnt working at all. He didnt find out till end of the night .

Cheap leds.

I had the same problem with the leds when I had my 450V2. One led went, so I replaced them both.

Process of elimination is an excellent way of fault finding. Never assume that anything is fault free, until it's proved to be. How many times on here have we seen a weird fault traced back to a faulty cable?
