That's me. :( :( :o :o In a steel sided shed, one door only, and it's not near me. Yeah, Young Farmers again. :D :D On the bright side, the dongle's got a full five bars, there's a Rodeo Bull, a Hog Roast,a stack of Class D's singing merrily, and I've got my money in my pocket. Could be worse, eh? As long as the can of deodorant I found in the box of cabled lasts the night, I'm good. :D :D

I sweat like a pig when setting up. I now change into my smart wear after setting up. Maybe I need to do some exercise???? lol.

My gig next week is going to be a nightmare, the set-up area is right next to a massive coooling system that puts out the hot sutff! :bang:
Any old excuse :p

Nothing worse than a venue giving you 40 minutes to set up and you're wearing your best bib n tucker, sweating like a haemophiliac on Warfarin. Not a good look lol. Have a good one mate !

the last wedding i did. I went into the venue in a twinspin polo shirt and some short length umbro bottoms. I was still sweating. The venue hadnt turned the aircon on until we got setup.
That was nice of them. But yep always a good idea to have your setting up clothes and your performance clothes/outfit

thank god its not just me that has this issue!
Like some I take a black company polo shirt and set up in that. Then wack some background music on auto dj thuis allowing me to cool down abit and change.
Great thing about the DSB is the room you get with it so I take a 12inch fan with me too which helps

My fans are usually five foot tall. :coat:
Tony, unless you were working, the only smell I'd expect round your way would have been charcoal and steak. :D

Lol very hot up here a little rain just made it more humid. Setup in my linen whites to keep cool. Went to get changed and the groom said it was to hot for tux and said I could stay in in my linens. Lovely. Mind you I was under 5 discharge lights for the remainder of the evening so had a nice tan added for free :)

Snap! Boiling!
I take a fan to gigs now, however it's white and sticks out really badly... considering spraying it black...

I take a 12" fan with me all the time too, but it always points at my laptop becuase it feckin overheats all the time and powers off. Need new laptop but a fan is cheaper at the moment !!!

Have you tried cleaning out the small fans in your laptop ?

It's reassuring to hear its not just me! I was seriously getting a tad paranoid about the issue. From my previous life as a DJ turning up to install gigs (pubs/clubs) with CD cases and a Laptop. In comparison, was a peice of proverbial.
All this lifting and shifting has made me realise just how much sweat and tears goes into our performances (well for me personally it's more sweat)
I will always have at least one fan at events (sometimes two)

I very rarely wear what I am going to be DJing in for set up and normally shower and change if it's in one of of my regular venues or ring/email and ask in advance if they have a shower or room etc that I can change in.
There is nothing worse than putting on a fresh shirt or dinner suit when you've been sweating loads.

When tearing down a few weeks back after a gig at The Cottier in the west end of Glasgow (26 stepped spiral stair case !!!) I was soaked with sweat and the manager of the venue said to one of the bar maids "Look how easy he makes that look, he's not even sweating" LOL ! He was a top fella but needed a slap for that comment :D
