I recently bought a American Audio Q-Spand Pro mixer for a backup but I decided to use it tonight as a main playout and give it a test.

I noticed when I plugged it into the PA system (2 Mackie SRM450's) there was a real buzzing noise coming from the mixer.

The laptop wasn't connected to the power supply so I ruled that out of the question and I was using the XLR outs on the mixer.

This has really baffled me, If anybody can give a good explanation this would be great.

Cheers

i had one for a back up and the output was so noisy, and even worse when you tried to use the effect buttons on the right hand side.

i gave up on it and got shot.

At least it's not just me then, Time to get shut and get a new mixer for back up!

I had a buzzing mixer (Kam) fairly new as well - no solution, new one was the cheapest way forward.

Even from a budget mixer the output noise shouldn't be that bad, I am going to email ADJ as I aren't impressed at all.
