PM me if you would like the application form/contact details:

Hi there,

I hope you don’t mind me contacting you - I’m looking for people to take part in a new BBC1 TV show and I wondered whether you could help at all.

John Bishop’s Britain is new, prime time BBC1 entertainment programme for Saturday nights. In each show the comedian John Bishop will looking at a different topic through his own stories and experiences and those of the people of Britain. We’re trying to find a host of people from different backgrounds, careers and interests to represent the people of Britain – from teenagers in the east end of London to aristocrats. The intention of the show is not to ridicule any of the interviewees or to leave anyone looking silly – John’s style of comedy and the tone of the show is very warm, celebratory and inclusive.

Essentially we are looking for outgoing, fun people with any interesting, funny or endearing stories or opinions about topics such as growing up, family, holidays, sport and work.

We’ve already started filming these interviews and are going to continue doing so over the next few weeks. The interview involves a crew of four production members travelling to the interviewee’s town and filming with them for a couple of hours in their own environment. The programme is scheduled for broadcast in August.

We are looking for a diverse group of people with different interests to give a full, interesting and colourful picture of Britain - I was wondering whether you could help me to get in touch with any DJs who might be interested in being interviewed? If you or any of your associates are interested in participating all you need to do is fill in the form so that we know a little more about you.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks indeed.

I must humbly apologise for my lamentable oversight in not checking whether or not Tony had expended his pound in the sanctum sanctorum. I don't know how I could have been so lackadaisical as not to perform this check. I shall go and fall on my sword immediately. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Is it possible to check membership status in this manner?

Hmmmmm. Perhaps I should have phrased my question differently.

Is it possible for us mere mortals to ascertain whether or not another poster on here has been granted access to the hallowed portal?

Yes

While I thank you for your honest and accurate answer, I feel I must point out that to a seeker of enlightenment such as myself, it does indeed beg one important question, not to be confused with a TV series of the same name.

Many thanks for taking pity on a terminally befuddled and permanently confused old man. It's nice to see that at least some of the technocrats on here are prepared to help the aged, rather than poke fun at them.
