HD2500 & 900 mixer into this?

I'm now in the lucky postion of having another HD2500 & 900 mixer as a back up playout. Currently my main PO is housed in a 10U slanting flightcase but was wondering if anyone used this:

to house their 2500 & 900 (or similar) mixer. I like to have the 2500 at the bottom and mixer above but before I go and order one I'd thought I'd ask.

Main concern is that the front won't be deep enough for the 2500 :confused:

I would have thought it would have holded a hd2500

mine is a small swanflght one and that does the job.

if you look at my top case on there.... Although that rack does tilt up the hd2500 will lay in that case flat when the lids put on and it leaves 1u clearance space for the keyboard tray.

so it might just fit.

I use one exactly like that - but for a Cortex which is a lot thinner than a HD2500. There is a lot of clearance underneath the Cortex at the moment though so I'd think that it'd fit (underneath the cortex I have the power bricks for the Cortex and for a Sennheiser Freeport radio mic - so there is a LOT of room ;)

I went for 10u to give a bit more space behind the mixer for power blocks and also in the picture you will notice there is room for a mini keyboard and my radio mic receiver

I bought one of those cases to replace an old and battered one and had the same dilemma. The HD2500 is about the same depth as the DN-X900/500 and you will need a gap of about 2U from the bottom of the case so that it fits in. So 2U blanking plate, then the mixer and HD2500 and you should be fine.

I have the same case with a HC4500 (which is more shallow) and a DNX500 in for backup.

Was looking at something slightly smaller than the 10U hence the one I linked to. I'll probably just give them a call as they're customer service is pretty darn good. ;)

Actually, if we are being pedants..., then the mixer is 4U and the player 3U, so a 1U plate would be required for it to look nice. :p

I only suggested the plates for it to look better.

I think blanking plates are under-rated my quite a few people.

I've seend a fair few console pics in the gallery where there are just gaps.

True. I thought you were referring to blanking plates in front of the HD2500 because of the depth. The Thomann one is deeper so the HD2500 sits at the front. I would put a 1u behind the mixer to finish it off and cover the cables

You can put then the other way round - you just need the 2U first for the depth.

Quick update on this.

The 2500 fits nicely and I only had to go 1u up to get the clearance for the HDD. I'm still waiting on my mixer to arrive off flea bay....long story not the sellers fault but it might make you chuckle! Basically he'd booked the courior, took the parcel to work with him left it at reception to be collected. The receptionist called him to say it had been collected to get the reply "He's not due until this afternoon" :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

The receptionist had given it to an IT recyclying company from London (He's in Aylesbury). The said IT company still haven't returned it as yet so i'm still waitng. I'm pretty sure it's not a scam as the bloke concerened calls me near enough everyday with an update and has also offered a refund on more than one occasion.

Anyway back to the point in question, Yes it does fit and I'll post another pic once it's rigged properly. The only drama I can see at the moment is it'll be a struggle to get to the power switch.

I never touch the power switch on mine. On is default setting. With all others, I've found it to be too quiet.

if you need to reboot it, press 'B Loop' and 'Filter' on both sides and hold for 5 secs.

I leave mine 'On' as well. I only have to plug in one thing and my whole case has power, as I bought a Powercon connector and attached the other bit to an extension lead which is fixed inside the flightcase...easy peasey :D
