Inspired by a couple of other threads.

An acquaintance was working on a site where they were required to wear fall arresters 2.1m long, since they were working at roof height. Fair dos, no problem. They then moved to work at the dizzy height of 1.2m from terra firma, so dispensed with the arresters. They were sacked on the spot, with no redress.    ( for those who haven't worked it out, the arresters would still have had a yard of slack when they'sd hit the floor at the lower level )

We were fitting a shower cubicle for a customer, and it was delivered in flat pack by tail lift truck. My mate went to grab the parcels, and was given the firsty one no problem. On grasping the second one, he went to put it in the same place, but was surprised when the man stood on the tail lift refused to let go!  There followed a brief tug of war, with gravity and my mate's tenacity finally winning out. when they'd gone, he turned to me and said

" You know, I don't think he wanted to let me have that package".
He was flabbergasted when I told him that was because of the legend imprinted boldly on the packaging:

26Kg-Two man llft

In case many of you didn't know, that's one reason why your 5 gallon containers now only contain 20 litres. ;)
