Those that remember my post a couple of weeks ago will remember that i was starting to do pre-wedding consultations with bride and grooms before their big day.
Ive been tonight to see both the bride and groom and ive had a good chat with them about everything and they seemed very happy about what i had to offer them.
I discussed with them the types of music they would be having during the evening if they had any varied style and that i would be happy to take a playlist off them if they wanted a set style of music during the night.
She give me a list of about 20 songs of their personal favourites to be played on the evening and she said to me. The bride and groomwould be very happy for me to use my own judgement and take some requests for their guests.
I also discussed with them about their first dance and how they would like to be introduced, the first dance song also that they have chosen and other things like the atmosphere/buildup to the first dance.
I call upon the guests on the microphone to create a nice big circle around the dancefloor (Thanks to Ben for this idea)
slow song before the first dance to set the mood for the first dance followed by an empty dancefloor for the bride and groom to dance together on their own.
Invite all their friends and family on the dancefloor for their first dance also so they are dancing.
Dance for a bit themselves and then call upon friends and family to join them on the dancefloor.
also any other dances if they would like to dance with their father etc and went through the details on the booking form just to make sure the original times were still the same or any updates.
There was one update that i will also be working alongside a live band on the night.
Since its the first time ive done the client meetups. Ive learnt a fair bit already it seems.
I definetely want to push for this more often because i do strongly believe now that it will do me a lot of favours in terms of raising my levels of customer service and the bride and groom were put completely at ease to ask me any questions.
first meeting completed and im already sure that its going to be a succesful wedding gig.
thanks to everyone for the advice on here prior to the meeting.
