Song Request handouts??

Hi,

Does anyone here have a template for a song request sheet that can be placed on tables at events I do?

I'd like for my customers to be able to fill in song requests on the night and I used to have a special slip they could fill in and was wondering if anyone had anything similar that I could use.

Obviously all company details, logo etc. will be changed.

we use vista print cards, one side of the card is the same front as our bussiness card and on the other is a request slip, we always put them on the tables request side facing up, also on this has got our mobile number, sometimes we get the odd request come in via text

i think text requests work really well we get requests texted to our 3 mobile internet stick it just makes things easier for us weve found.

Something I used to do, but dropped because I found that it caused more trouble from drunken guests if you hadn't played unsuitable requests.

I don't, sorry, but I'll show you what I use. See below.

I tend to use request cards at most of my gigs, but only with the permission of the client. Up till now the feedback regarding the cards has been 100% positive. I know many of you don't like to use feedback cards but they work well for my business.

As well as using them for requesting songs I noticed many of the guests were using them to write down their drinks orders when heading to the bar, so I kept that in mind with the latest design and included a perforated tear of section.

i definitely think it encourages people to request much more - I went from 1 or 2 requests to 40+ when slips were introduced.
It allows people to 'put their oar in' so be prepared, as it can change the dimension of the night you may have planned.
That can be a good thing, or a bad thing. - The drunken guests is a good example.

no offence but why not just get on mic every so often and encourage requests yourself? If people cant be bothered to come up and request songs then are they really bothered about requesting that certain song?

The cards tend to draw more requests in than mic work alone. On the occasions I don't use the cards, encouraging people using the mic works fine....but the cards work better (for me, anyway). Quite often I see people pop the cards in their handbag too, which is a good thing.

No offence but I'm not asking for opinions on using them I have already made that decision for myself :)

some people just don't like to approach the dj, it's amazing the number of times you will get a small child come up with a request slip asking for some rock and roll,

I don't bother with slips unless I'm doing karaoke. I get most of my requests via text requests. I just put my number on the screen then when someone requests a song I text back "Thank you for your request, it will be played shortly.Blue Dragon Entertainment"

People love it and also means they have a text with my number should they need to place an order :)

I agree completely - When I use request slips I get far more requests coming in.

When I don't use them I remind people to come up and ask etc. Slips are also good for building up a bit of rapport with your audience early doors as well.

My basic slips look like this

Only used slips a few times but they do work aslong as you dont pile loads on to tables as they just end up on the floor

Have any of you considered or use - corporate pens for filling in the slips with?

It's probably a wiser choice than having to climb upon stage and shouting over the music ;)

I personally use SMS which is linked to the laptop.
Every time a customer text's me, it flashes up on my laptop.
It's great for interaction with the customer, and i often send them a text to inform them of when there track is coming on.
I have laminated A5 cards with the text number on, and I leave them on the tables.
If I'm doing karaoke, I throw the image on the screen as well.

It's great to interact and also a very very cheap way to get a sms shot sent out to remind the customer your still around ;)
