Last December, I moved from using hard flight cases to the Slappa 360, and I mainly play and manage everything digitally anyway. The hard cases that the discs come supplied in, I think they're going, but I am debaiting whether to keep the CD artwork or not.

I keep the front leaflet anyway on all CDs apart from the 'Now, that's what I call music' pretty much, but I don't know whether I should bother keeping the back covers or not. I have no intention of selling any of the CDs as collector's items or anything, so value doesn't bother me much.

Any thoughts?

Intentions can change, and it's only small pieces of paper after all - I'd file them and keep :)

I tend to keep the back covers and not the front as the back covers have the tracklistings on

As a music collector, everything has to be intact - sleeves, inlays booklets, the lot. I wouldn't dream of getting rid of any part of a music product. And I also have no intention of selling any of my collection but thats just the way I am.

:agree:

I made this mistake back in the days of vinyl.

When I bought my 7 inch singles & replaced the picture covers with plain cardboard ones, I didn't keep the original covers.

When I came to sell them having made the move to CDs, I was told I'd have got a fair bit more for them if they'd been in the original covers.

I keep the front covers with the cd's in the cd wallets, the cases are stored in the loft. Does take up a bit of storage but its worth keeping them I think. Especially for DJ only and harder to find limited releases and stuff.

I've got a couple of dozen of those cheap folding plastic crates crammed full of CD's, wrapped in plastic and containing a couple of silica gel pouches all stashed in the loft.

I figured that if the ProDub police ever turn up with a warrant they're welcome to cross-match everything to make sure I haven't gone over the magic 5000 :p (track 3 off this album, officer, then tracks 7 and 11 off this one... )
