Tonight I have a Lithuanian/Scottish wedding (and there's several french coming to tonights' event too). Friday I have an African/Scottish wedding. I've also did Weddings for Americans, Polish, Indian & Irish in the past.

So what nationalities have you provided entertainment for?

Lost count to be honest as I do a lot of international corporate parties as well. Still make a nice change sometimes. My indian bangra collection has now passed the 1000 tracks mark as has my eastern european collection.

Scottish, Irish, Welsh & Indian are the only ones that come to mind, but I'm sure there have been plenty of others I can't remember at the moment.

Just did a South African wedding (tip - find and play a track by Johnny Clegg called 'Impi') and have a French wedding this weekend. I also get a regular summer ball for a language school and they are from all over the world (last year included a 20 yr old Turkish bellydancer...to whom me and the old man did our best not to lech over when she asked if she could change behind our gear!!! Didn't know ladies could move like that)

I think the largest spread on one evening was the GENSB international youth tug-o-war tournament. 17 different nationalities including representatives from most of Western & Eastern Europe, South Africa & Russia.

Oh and I think I once did one for some English folk ;)

I've never DJ'd at a multicultural wedding but I have been a guest at an Indian Wedding in Manchester - It was totally mad, absolutely brilliant but mad as - loved it, especially the Wedding Breakfast which must have been the best Indian banquet in the world, ever, ever ever!

There I go food again........is it lunchtime yet ....................

Done Spanish parties when I lived over there, and also English/Spanish weddings.
The only problem was that every time I played English music the Spanish complained and when I played Spanish music the English complained.
No satisfying people is there :(

I did a works Xmas disco for a mostly ethnic audience, Filipino, Asian, Colombian (mostly care workers) - subconsciously my music choices did appear to be condescending in hindsight - but it wasn’t intentional. At the time Jah Ho (My Destiny) was in the charts which I coupled with Bhangra Knights, I also played Brown Girl in The Ring. Given the same scenario again I would try and avoid being so unsubtle, but I really didn’t think about it at the time - or maybe it was me just being over sensitive.
