Hi All,

Just signed up as a member this evening. New to the business of Karaoke/ Disco but been in the hospitality and entertainment field for quite a few years.

My partner and I are setting up our own business...got the cash but not spent a penny yet...were looking at buying a full karaoke & disco rig...any ideas of offers etc..would be great.

Also, website building, have you lot done it yourselves or paid for it?
Public liability...who is the best providor?
What about registering business names/ domain names etc...

Excited about it all but wanna make sure we do it right, any info would be great.....already had a nice welcome from Shaun...

Hope to speak to all very soon, cheers..either post replies on here or private message us

Welcome to the community

New venture huh?...it'll no doubt be an exciting (and a little scary) time for you both at the moment. You've come to the right place to "wet your feet" though. :)

You can get a lot of information starting up your business from the HM customs & Revenue website. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/startingup/.

Like Steve hs said a lot of your quesrtions have most probably been covered (several times) already. THe forum has a very good search function which can be accessed at the top of the forum (or by clicking HERE (http://www.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/forums/search.php?))

See ya around the site. :)

Hi Guys

If you need any technical advice (although I am sure there are plenty on here to offer such advice) I am sure my hubby Nigel would be happy to help.

I have only just joined the forum and they seem a friendly bunch on here :)

Welcome along! :teeth:

Oh boy... where do you start in answering the questions from the start of this thread! The answer to life, the universe, and everything :omg: :teeth:

Your main concern seems to be about your website: if you're a novice and unsure about whether to try yourself or pay someone to do it, why not have a look here: http://www.ezdj.co.uk/ . It might be the perfect "middle ground" to suit what you want and Richie (who runs it) is a friendly bloke! (He is the webmaster and the owner of the MDD site as well :teeth: )

Welcome to the forum :D

For Public Liability and equipment insurance, take a look at www.musicguard.co.uk and www.eandl.co.uk. I believe both companies offer discounts to members of this forum :teeth:

You say you are looking to invest in a full system, do you have a budget in mind?
