Consider any good setup over about 400Wrms and ideally lightweight. The mackies on offer previously were lovely but way to heavy at 45Kg each. So any JBL Mackie Dap or LD system considered

OK... without any idea of the budget or how loud you want them to play, but knowing you like JBL, how about a pair of JRX118S with JRX112M 12" mid-tops?

The subs weigh in at 32kg and the midtops at just 19kg. Some of the best sounding entry level boxes around, they'll do ~123dB.

If you haven't already got the processing, how about a dbx223xl if you're in the analogue camp, or dare I suggest a DCX2496 if you want to go digital.

That will give you a nice little active system that's about as multi-purpose as you'll get.

nope cant see incorrect terminally, speakers are either passive or active, powered is an Americanised generalisation. However im trying to get something along the lines of eon g2s or srm 350/450s or similar alternative types, with a similar SPL of over 125db as i already own an active 18inch sub
