First Gig with new equipment Saturday

Ive had a wedding booked for a while and its slowly creeped up on me and its saturday!

Its the first time im going out with my new equipment and i havent done a proper disco for a while so wish me luck!!

This was my old equipment:

2 x Skytec 300w 15" Speakers
1 x 600w Soundlab Amplifier
2 x Light screens (battered and bruised!)
2 x Soundlab Vastos
1 x Acme Exercet
1 x Acme Tango
1 x Numark CD Mix 2 Unit
1 x Desktop pc thrown together by me!
1 x Rhino Stand
No backup amplifier!
Couple of portable cd players for backup

NEW KIT:

Class D Bass bins (CD15N`s?) and Class D 12" Tops (Brand New)
1 x Behringer Amplifier EP4000 4000w
1 x Top Grade Laptop
1 x Hercules RMX USB Controller
1 x Numark CD Mix 2 (Fully refurbed - Hercules to be plugged into Aux then cds as backup)
2 x Vastos (Still got them - gotta love them!)
1 x Ultimax Goalpost Stand
4 x Acme Dynamos Linked with CA8 Controller

Backup WA1300W Amplifer
Backup Laptop x2 (Maybe use one for Text msgs with dongle)
Also can use Numark CD Mix 2 for backup purposes or Hercules can run by itself with Line in if Numark develops fault.

Hopefully im covered with backups now and i have some better kit.
Some purchased new, some secondhand but all pat tested, fully licensed and fully insured now!

I spent last night prewiring the goalpost for the lights and power and trying to hide the cables as best i could! Will need some shorter cables made up but they should do for now.

Tonight will be preparing the laptops properly (already got music sorted) and trying out the new RMX.

Agreed. Well done for keeping the Vastos, a very underrated light. :D :D

The vastos are the best lights ive had (then again i havent had many!). Ive had them for at least 5 years and in that time they have never gone wrong or ive never even had to change the bulb!(TOUCH WOOD!)

The equipment is for me really!
It has given me new found confidence that i have backups ready and also that it looks more professional and less thrown together.

OK UPDATE TIME!

Ive put pics on gallery thread.

Got to the venue around 3pmish to setup nice and early. Only one lad let us in as no one else there so setup in shorts and t shirts as noone around and blimin hot!
Got it all setup within 30-45mins and tested it all out - everything fine.

Went home ,had a shower, bite to eat and redressed in something a bit more suitable for a wedding (waistcoat,shirt and trousers) and picked up my roadie and off we went. got there at 6.45pm and started at 7pm though noone turned up until 7.30pm.

Played noughties stuff (james morrison,natasha beddingfield)just while people sat down and then bride and groom asked for their first dance right on time (8.30pm) which was Heaven Candlelight mix. I had it on the laptop and cued up on cd just in case!

All went well, had buffet then more older stuff and managed to keep the dancefloor filled all night.

Played till 12am when everything closed and thanked and congratulated the B&G.
Packed down, in the van and packed away at home by 2am and in bed by 2.30am (after some toast!).

All in all it went really well. The Class D`s sounded excellent with my new Behringer EP4000 played at just under 3/4 way with no clipping (see my tech thread of a slight hiccup), the linked Dynamos were awesome and the laptop performed faultlessly.

Looks like your keyboard is producing the letter g when you hit the b key.
