Yes, eBay is really only an option if you know what you're doing, or are willing to take a chance

Also, CDWOW (http://www2.cd-wow.com/) and 101CD.COM (http://www.101cd.com/index.aspx?asptnr=9691) are both pretty good too. :)

I hope you're not condoning the use of bootlegs!

The thing to remember when buying CDs off eBay is to always read the description carefully. If in doubt, always ask the seller...that is why the function is in place!

I must admit, that half the time, the seller doesn't state if its a copy or an original, and doesn't state the condition of the CD, like if it has any scratches, ect. But this is easily resolved with a question to the seller. At the end of the day, it could save you money in the process!

I think we've starting to drift a little off topic here guys, as the conversation has gone from talking about CDs to your local supermarket chains :teeth:

So for the record....

Off Topic

Back on thread guys! :)

KrazyKaz

But CD's in supermarkets are often cheaper than the likes of Woolies etc, therefore, it's not really OFF TOPIC

Well yes, i take your point! What don't supermarkets sell these days?

But to be fair, and im not trying to be the party pooper here but we were referring to supermarkets in general was we not?

Anyway, ok, it wasn't off topic as such so i take back my previous comment :teeth:

The original question was:

Does everyone just buy them on the highstreet or what?

So i don't think i was off topic!

You can get some good deals at HMV if i was to be honest, although some of you would disagree!

HMV Online (http://www.hmv.co.uk)

It is better to shop in their online store as they are located in the Channel Islands (Jersey i think) so you do not have to pay the VAT as they are not on the GB mainland. This means you will pay less than in the store, meaning you save a couple of pounds in the process :D

The same applies for Play.com, which i was unaware of until yesterday!

dj andy allwood
11-07-2006, 02:39 PM

I think the average compilation on Play is around £12.99, and a standard album i think costs around £8.95.

I think the same applies on HMV online...but don't quote me on it :)

Tax dodging - i love it :D
