Flip Video Cameras (or similar)

I'm looking to get some decent video images for the website of discos and uplighting and have been looking at the Flip range which seem to do the job.

Anyone any experience of these or any of the "copies" that you can get?

I bought a flip when they first came out - shocking quality, got rid of it just as quick - They may have improved over the last 18 months or so, but I wouldn't waste any wedge on one.

It's just a brand of micro video camera.
Have a Google and you'll see-through I was looking at the 8gb version.

It's by a photographer friend of mine but I'm keen to know what it would be like in a darker environment.

I'm sure I posted somewhere on here....I was going to buy one and then I saw a Sanyo one for slightly more but with a better stills camera and better features.

It's very good in the light and not too bad in low light conditions. The videos of people dancing on my website are taken with it.

It's not as good as my Sony Mini DV, but is a good compromise on quality Vs price and size.

The Flip Ultra HD is pretty good for the money and size. I recently took some clips of a school prom I was doing and was pleasently suprised by the quality.

The video quality on these type of cameras varies, but if I had a website, I would probably get something more professional produced, like a videographer, or film them on a 'better' camera. They are designed for personal use that easily fits into a pocket. The audio is compressed to 128k, and recorded from a built in microphone, so will never compare to professional quality.

I could post some test clips taken with some of my camcorders, and/or images from the Xacti.

I have this which takes excellent photos and video. I was lucky as normally you do not the two in one.

I would recommend this more than anything i own :) £100 on ebay second hand.
Has a flip screen which is very good.
