CJ and his Dad have just been here to pick up some twin 15" Class D's from me for Saturday. They're interested in buying a pair, so obviously I rigged then up to an amp and Cortex. Their timing was impeccable, and they turned up just as I plugged the last cable in, and so I pressed play on the Cortex, and pushed the faders up. Kid Rock-All Summer Long rang out, one of my great favourites.

Twenty minutes later, my son comes home.
" Have you just been running those up? "
" Yes Son, why do you ask? "
" Thought so, Sweet Home Alabama"

He was a mile and a half away, in a straight line!! :eek: :eek: :eek:

I've done a number of school fetes outside over the last few weeks and have been able to clearly hear some of the announcements from a good mile away. That's with just a pair of JBL JRX115's hooked up to a Prosound 1600 amp which puts out about 350w/channel.

Hate to pour cold water on all this boasting chaps BUT

you might eventually wise up to the fact that you may be damaging your future prospects and those of the xyz Hotel you may be playing in:eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

I have had problems at 2 Hotels over this and its not clever because it just makes life difficult for said Hotel Owners with neighbours:bang:

If its bad they will lose the music licence--and your out of another job.

good point. I did a marquee the other day and sound does travel!

Thats the reason we have to put up with noise limiters.
No offence so most on here but some DJ's seem to think volume = dancing which it dont. :p
