ANOTHER new player from Pioneer.

Not sure where this actually fits really with the CDJ350, CDJ900, CDJ2000 already out but ....

Yeah I saw that. I still can't see the point though. If you play at the biggest clubs you can afford (or get given) CDJ2000s.

The CDJ900s are selling at about £975 each street price and these are RRP £799. Not a massive difference and surely if you can afford to lay out £1500+ on 2 decks then you can afford £1950 ? :D :D

Unless the artist was involved within the development of the product, it's VERY unlikely they're given to them for free! ;)

This deck comes in at a good price for bedroom guys who don't need the Pro DJ Link, for networking up to 4 CDJs, 2 laptops and a mixer!

For home use it's easy enough to have two HDDs or USB sticks set up to DJ with. These CDJs are perfect for honing your skills ready to play in clubs. That £400 difference is a fair bit of money for some DJs, so buying an 850 instead of a 900 or even a 2000 is worth it. Especially as all their prepared tracks through rekordbox will work with all the new generation of DJs Pioneer have.

For this kind of money, you could get 2 x Numark NDX800s which work flawlessly with Virtual DJ and Traktor. Pioneer are starting to take the mickey with their pricing! I would still buy a 4U rackmountable version of the DJM800 though..

Not sure about "starting to", hasn't it been this way for a good few years?. They are in the enviable position of being able to and power to their elbow for that. To be honest (IMHO) they could have set the price point for CDJ2000s around 20-25% higher than it is, without I guess being too detrimental to sales.

Pioneer have brought out so many products in a short space of time, that Im beginning to loose track. Not so long ago, the replacement for the CDJ 400 was brought out (350, I think it was).

£400 seems a lot for the benifit of a LAN Ethernet "Pro DJ link".

But I suppose the players are bigger.


Are there any further crucial differences apart from the LAN link?
