Good! I hope they enjoy their day as I wouldn't want to work for them if they believe they are paying for something they don't need. Why! well they would never enjoy it as they would think they could have done it.

I wish I could visit some of these DIY wedding just to give me a laugh.

Don't get me wrong i love a nice rough gig in a dodgy area from time to time as they are easier to please, but this is your wedding!

Easy tiger we use to be £150. In fact still got a few of them in the diary from an agency.

However, the point is £150 can get you someone half reasonable. I take that on board.

I agree with Rob. Since music has been available in a recorded format, people have been using it to "DIY". Strangely there are still lots of mobile DJ's/Disco's around.

Some people do their own catering, it hasn't put caterers out of business. Some people have the receptions at home or in a venue such as a public/scout hall, it hasn't put the wedding venues out of business. Some people, heaven forbid, blow up their own balloons but it hasn't put the balloon companies out of business.

Just because a few are of the mind set that they want to do their own thing doesn't mean that there is a major threat to the DJ'ing industry. Ipods have been around long enough to make a major impact if they were going to do so but I haven't seen it happen yet.

Quite correct,i would be well out of pocket as we hire out 3 or 4 systems every week for people to do there own functions its there day and there choice and i dont see the point of people getting uptight about it.
