Did a wedding in Portsmouth yesterday , Moneyfields sports and social club.
good access and I was to set up on the stage , plenty of power points and a sound limiter ( it wasn't connected to anything :D ) , all set up by 3:00 pm , wedding guests arriver at 4: ish.
I was amazed , a place had been set for dinner /wedding breakfast , home made veg soup , roast chicken with all the trimmings and a strawberry cheesecake , this is where the "automix" button is worth its weight in gold :D . main disco got under way at 7:00 pm , it was so hot , dancing was a no-no , apart from a few children , I swear that if you turned the music off , they wouldn't notice , as long as there was a few coloured dots to chase.
First dance at 8:45 , for the half a dozen guests that were still inside at that point . so far so good , about 10:00 I noticed that the lamp had gone in one of the barrel scanners , so I unplugged the unit , took the cover off , replaced the lamp , cover on and power restored , all within Lady gaga`s Telephone :D .
Now the couple had not asked for an extension , so music had to finish at 11:00 pm sharp  , the last four songs were pure cheese , Amarillo ,hi-ho silver lining ,YMCA , and the last song (request) Rolf Harris-court of king Catactacus , people were dancing , as it was a bit cooler by then , I was packed up and ready to go by midnight , that included taking the uplighting out as well , all together a good night. plus I got a tip :D
It`s great to have a good gig where 99.9% of everything goes well
