Hi, im thinking about setting up a childrens disco business and ive joined this site to learn all i can. I need to be aware of the legalities, the equipment, safety/environment, party games, pricing, and how to generally be a childrens DJ.

I would like to play music for small children up to 12 years of age.

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated as im a complete novice.
My partner does balloon twisting and decor, plus temporary tattoos. (She will be helping me with the party games)

Together we were hoping to sell ourselves as a 'party package'

Any member from norfolk who is doing the same thing, please let me know your catchment area. I dont want to tread on anyones toes and would rather work with, than against other djs

Hi Gary & :welcome2:

(Love the forum name BTW :D )

You'll find people very helpful of here: even when we overlap areas. We believe 'networking' rather than 'cut-throat' business practices benefit us all in the end ;)

You'll also find this thread will become just a 'hello' thread from the membership. Please feel free to post any specific questions you have in the relevant forums. (I would suggest you start having a good read in the Children's Entertainers Forum (http://www.forum.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=33) for starters )

Welcome Gary, as has already been mentioned look in the Childrens Entertainer section of the forum. One person worth speaking to is Mr. Mayhem, who is probably the most experienced/best entertainer in this type of work, he is very knowledgeable and friendly and would be able to offer you invaluable advice. :)

Thankyou for the warm welcome, much appreciated. I will post my questions in the relevant threads and if anyone wants to know about balloon twisting or temporary tattoos my old lady will be happy to help.

She most certainly will! Spoke to her earlier and she seems very knowledgable in the kids entertainement scene................
