Buying from thomann

Just wondering in terms of keeping things nice and tidy whats the best way to adapt it to uk power supply

When they arrive just chop the euro plug off and attach a normal plug instead.

Thing is I want to keep things really neat and tidy (You know what Im like) and just wondering how that looks on the floor Ben thats all?

I simply tuck them in under the stand for the par cans, unless people are looking underneath the lights they wont notice.

For the record I have never had a complaint about my wiring being untidy at uplighting jobs :)

Im not really looking into buying loads but a gig has come up where they are needed as working with a singer. I dont really see myself buying any more than the 4 so in terms of uplighting jobs cant really see it happeaning.

Which ones do you use btw?

Fair enough, but if you do get uplighting enquiries, it would be 4 less to hire in ;)

Yeah definitely, unless you are going to be using them on a regular basis dry hire is the way forward!

I now own 8 of the ones Dan and Ben have.

Just chop the Euro plug off and attach a UK 3-pin one (Designed by my Great-Grandad I recently found out!!)

Also the splitters, I use the little Y-splitters you linked to Neil, but get them off ebay! I paid about £6 for 3.

As for the cans you linked to, they are not in stock until 30/07/2010. They were the ones I originally ordered, but cancelled them as I needed some ASAP - My most recent order was here within 2 days of ordering!!

You'd only have a live end as a result of a highly improbable scenario - that a second splitter further up the line is also connected to a live mains feed, and joined to the first with a female/female link cable rather than the more sane and infinitely more common male/female arrangement.

which although not a widowmaker by itself, should not exist for obvious reasons... and some slightly less obvious ones, for example what if the two mains feeds were on different phases? :eek:

Anyone had to deal with refunds with them? I sent them an email not 10 minutes after ordering saying to cancel and I'll reorder the correct cans and they have replied this morning saying sorry its too late. They have advised to refuse delivery and it will be sent back to which they can issue a refund?
