Hi people,
As you may have seen in the Karaoke section I had another charity event last night in a place called Escape. I was due to start at 7:30 but as my brother who is my current driver wanted to do the charity treasure hunt that was before the disco he had to drop me off early.
Before we set off I needed to see which of my iMove S5s had the dodgy bulb so I plugged 1 in and it didnt work, I unplugged it then plugged it into the other only to hear the other bulb blow. I was going crazy as they are my favorite lights. Had them checked out and its just a faulty cable that been blowing the bulbs. As I didnt have them I rang round my mates and managed to borrow some lighting off a singer.
I got there about 4:30 and I thought I was in the perfect, nice clear corner power right next to me, no smoke alarms in the way of using the smoke and a nice area for dancing. I set all my gear up checked the sound and lighting and chilled with the organises for abit as the restaurant was buying us drinks :)
While talking to her she said I was booked short notice because the Resident DJ was fired after he did another charity gig and after telling them it would be free he invoiced the charity. Then she did a post on a local forum and another DJ offered it her for £50 but as soon as she asked if he had all the licenses etc he said erm no. Thats when she found me :)
Anyway I had singers all night and we were charging 50p a song and all money went to Help For Heroes. Even though I only had 1 wireless mic it didn't bother anyone and still had a great laugh. I called last orders at 11:15 then announced no more karaoke at 11:30 and then finished with "New York New York - Frank Sinatra" with everyone linked arms in a big circle even the bar staff all kicking their legs hahaha.
